Home Staging: You don’t necessarily have to go through the expense of a kitchen or bathroom remodel when selling your real estate in Lake Havasu. In fact, you might be able to get away with maximizing your bathroom space without breaking the bank. And creating a larger feel to your closets could be as easy as paring down your wardrobe. Studies show that a staged home sells faster and for more money than an unstaged home. So before you put your property on the Havasu real estate market, perform these “must-do” home staging tips. Don’t worry. I’ve kept a tight budget in mind. All of the staging tips I present here can be accomplished with a quick trip to your local Walmart. That helps keep costs down.
Home Staging on a Budget
White Towels
Always start with fresh linens. This lends a crisp, clean look to any home. Put white hand towels in your kitchen and bathrooms. White goes with any decor and fluffy towels help create a spa-like feeling in the bathroom. In fact, roll a few up and place them carefully on the tub surround or countertop.
Accent Pillows
Keep the wall and furniture colors neutral to appeal to the most buyers. But stay away from “boring” with a few colorful accent pillows. Choose just one or two accent colors for the entire household. Then, stay within those color families for these accent pieces.
Accent Mirror
Mirrors add interest and depth to any room. Have a dark entryway in your home? Add a mirror across from a window to bring in more natural light. Smaller rooms appear bigger with pretty mirrors on the wall. Create a lovely focal point on a long, boring hallway by mixing several mirrors in different sizes and styles.
Fake Foliage
Plants add a beautiful accent to just about any room as well. But, you have enough on your plate without having to worry about keeping them alive. Instead, add fake plants and flowers to a pretty vase. They add color and interest.
Candles
Candlelight warms up an otherwise cold room. Avoid any fire hazards when you put your home on the Havasu real estate market by adding flameless candles to each room. There are so many options nowadays that offer a realistic look without the worry of your house burning down. They also work great in a hurricane lamp on the patio table outside. (Don’t neglect your outdoor living space!)
Artwork
Finally, add some interesting artwork. I know I’ve said that you want to declutter. But that doesn’t mean stark white walls are the only way to go. Pack the personal stuff away. Replace it with neutral artwork/prints in pretty, calming colors.
